Depending on the filling station design, the compressor can be used for discharge pressure up to 1,100 bar as a filling compressor for gas storage facilities, as a transfilling compressor for cascade gas storage facilities or as a booster for direct refuelling of vehicles. The drive power can be up to 200 kW. The delivery rates in booster mode are sufficient to meet the requirement of the SAE protocol to refuel a vehicle within 3 minutes. High pressure hydrogen resistant materials are required for the components being in contact with the gas.
